ADULT CLASSES – Dance, Yoga & Pilates

ADULT BALLET

Adult ballet helps to improves your flexibility, muscle strength and tone, and has the advantage of working the entire body. Each class has an element of performance which you will dance for the teacher, yourself or fellow students. You will gain a sense of achievement and your confidence in your ability will develop.

Ballet is mindfulness at its best, having to be completely present with your mind several steps ahead of your body means that any other noise is silenced for the duration of the class. Thereby reducing stress, anxiety and providing an opportunity to disconnect from the outside world. Adult ballet classes are social and fun, no-one is coming to class expecting to become the next prima ballerina. With egos checked at the door, you can be sure of an hour of fun while you do something that is good for your Mind, Body & Soul.

ADULT CONTEMPORARY DANCE

A time for adults to explore and push the boundaries of creative dance, developing artistic freedom within movement. The class explores techniques from Graham, Cunningham, Límon, and Release technique all taught as part of creative classes.

ADULT JAZZ DANCE

A fabulously fun class, that will make you feel like you just stepped out onto the stage on Broadway and the West End. With kicks and flicks you’ll be turning and twirling to a jazz hands kind of finish. 

PILATES

Pilates method of 34 exercises to strengthen the body’s, core including back and abdominal muscles. Pilates also improves balance, posture and coordination, increases flexibility, restores natural posture, improves athletic performance, rehabilitates and prevents injury, tones muscles and elevates/energises the spirit. New scientific research keeps proving again and again that this method is one of best physical practices you can do to help re-balance the body, calm the mind and gain endurance, strength and stamina.

YOGARESTORATIVE YOGA – PREGNANCY YOGA

Hatha & Vinyasa flow – you will move your body slowly and deliberately into different poses that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness. Hatha yoga places special emphasis on controlled breathing and posture. Building core strength, which is key to good posture while in Vinyasa you will move from one pose directly into the next. There’s a flow to a Vinyasa yoga session, though the specific poses and the pace of the flow vary from one class to the next.

Restorative yoga is the best way to restore your body to a balanced and relaxed state.
